Q. Why do I need dread wax?
A. Dread Wax is needed to hold brand new dreads together; to help form tight cylinder shaped dreads when palm rolling; to help keep hair moisturized and build up water resistance; keeps little dread 'fuzzies' under control.

Q. Why do I need special shampoo for my dreads?
A. Regular shampoo is made to make hair smooth and shiny. This is not what we want when we have dreads. Our DreadFX shampoo bar keeps the cuticle of the hair open making the surface of the hair rough, helping the hair knot easily.

Q. Can I wash my dreads like real hair?
A. Yes. Use the DreadFX shampoo bar. It keeps dreads clean and odor free, and cleans your scalp with natural antibacterial properties.

Q. Do I need a different color Dread Wax depending on my hair color? Why aren't different colored waxes available from DreadFX?
A. DreadFX does not need to add colour to the wax. It absorbs completely into your dreads, helps conditions your dreads and does not leave any visible residue. Other Waxes that do not properly absorb into your hair will coat the hair and will therefore need to be colored so they do not show. Colored wax will leave color on light colored clothing and on your pillow. DreadFX Dread Wax does not have this problem.

Q. Does having dreads make my scalp itch?
A. No. Any clean, healthy clean scalp may itch mildly but having dreads should not increase itchiness.
|
|
Q. Do I need to shave my head if I no longer want dreadlocks?
A. No. There is always undreaded hair nearest the scalp. The amount may vary but usually an inch or more. Be prepared to have a short hair cut afterwards. Dreads are a permanent hair style.

Q. Can I comb out or unpick my dreads if I no longer want them?
A. If you want to spend many hours (or days) it is posssible to salvage a little more hair than mentioned above. You will have a lot of damaged hair and will still end up with a short hair cut.
Use lots of hot water to disolve as much Wax build up as possible. If you have been using DreadFX this should be minimal.
Apply a lot of conditioner and start picking with a stiff comb.
Good Luck!

Q. Do dreads smell?
A. No. Use your DreadFX shampoo bar regularly. We recommend a solid rinse every 2-3 days with a soap up a couple of times a week.

|
Q. Do I need to condition my dreads?
A. Conditioning dreads isn't necessary as the natural oils the scalp produces (from the sebaceous gland) help to do that for you .
|
|
Q. Can I swim in a pool or in the ocean with my dreads?
A. Absolutely! This will help your dreads stay nice and solid. Rinse thoroughly and use your DreadFX bar to reduce salt, and itchiness on your scalp.
